Camp Arnes is a Faith based year round Retreat/Outdoor Education Center and Summer Youth Camp.  On a typical year, we welcome 1,700 campers and 12,000 year round guests both schools and weekend groups of every age.

 

We are looking for staff who have a passion for serving people of all ages, a strong Christian faith that is lived out both in word and actions, as well as a love for Christian camping. Current Ministry Opportunities

Executive Director

Summary Statement:

The Executive Director of Camp Arnes is responsible to carry out the vision, mission and policies of the organization together with the Board.

 

Qualifications:

The qualified person will lead a staff team, mediate personnel, exhibit a genuine desire to serve and agree with the Camp Arnes Mission Statement, Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith.  A mature personal commitment to Jesus Christ must be evident and previous camping ministry and leadership experience is preferred. A willingness to learn, grow and create a team environment is essential. Previous experience in camp management, small business management, human resources and financial management is an asset.

 

Responsibilities:

The Executive Director is responsible for or will oversee fundraising, communication strategies, maintain relationships with churches, key supporters and donors, and represent Camp Arnes in all public matters. It is paramount to nurture and inspire the vision for camping ministry and our mission/values with Camp Arnes staff and supporters.

 

Administration & Organizational Leadership:

This position is responsible for the overall leadership of staff, their development and implementation of Strategic plans and policies.  You will be required to work with the Senior Leaders to prepare and manage the annual operations strategy.

Along with attending regular Board meetings, the Executive Director will provide information and advice to assist in decision making and will work with the Board to organize and prepare for the AGM.

 

Human Resources:

The Executive Director will oversee the human resources function to ensure optimum staffing and placement, recommend policy changes to benefits, compensation, employment, training and other areas as appropriate.

Operations Director

Summary Statement:

The Operations Director of Camp Arnes is responsible to provide the day-to-day administration of onsite facilities operation, ensuring the organization runs smoothly and effectively.

 

Qualifications:

The qualified person must have previous leadership experience as they will hire, train and manage staff and volunteers, interact with guests, campers and staff in a professional manner and agree with the Camp Arnes Mission Statement, Code of Conduct and Statement of Faith. They must have knowledge of industry standards and government regulations. Drinking/waste water certification and trades experience is preferred.  A mature personal commitment to Jesus Christ must be evident and a willingness to learn, grow and create a team environment is essential.  Previous experience with camps, operational management, computer and software skills is an asset.

 

Responsibilities:

The Operations Director will develop and manage the budget for all onsite areas including: maintenance, food services, corrals, pool facility, camp site human resources and camp site purchases.   Oversee and help maintain the appearance of all buildings/grounds and identify and advise on facility improvements and equipment needs.

 

Administration & Organizational Leadership:

Modeling and upholding strong Christian character in yourself and the staff is fundamental. Help ensure that Camp Arnes is following all guidelines set out by the Manitoba Camping Association, Workplace Health and Safety Standards and comply to all government regulations for drinking water, waste water and pool operations.

 

Human Resources:

This position is responsible to monitor and provide direct leadership and training in all areas onsite including but not limited to Food Services, Housekeeping, Indoor Pool, Corrals/Animals, Office Operations and Volunteer Services.
