BIBLE STUDY RESOURCES

Camp Arnes was built on the foundation of “studying God’s Word and His wonderful handiwork in creation”. Whether you’re following along with our devotionals or trying to find resources you can trust for Biblical answers, we would love to provide that for you!

What kinds of translations would you suggest?

Staff at Camp use different translations of the Bible across the board. Be assured that regardless of what you choose to read, it contains the Spirit of the Word of God.

For an easier reading, we suggest:

Christian Standard Bible (CSB)

New Living Translation (NLT)

New International Version (NIV)

For a more literal translation, we suggest:

English Standard Version (ESV)

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

If you’d like to read the Bible online, we suggest using the YouVersion Bible App or the Bible Gateway Website (https://www.biblegateway.com/).

What websites/sources can I use if I want to study in depth?

Along with Bible Gateway, we’d suggest three websites for in depth Bible studies:

Blue Letter Bible (https://www.blueletterbible.org/): BLB provides powerful tools for an in depth study of God’s Word through their free online reference library, with study tools that are grounded in the historical, conservative Christian faith. Using their software, you can search Scripture by word, verse, multiple verses or entire chapters.

Bible Hub (https://biblehub.com/): Bible Hub provides quick access to studies on topics, the original languages of the Bible, sermons, and many other resources. Two of the most interesting features on BibleHub are their multiple translation feature: where you can see a single verse in up to 25 different versions and their interlinear function: where you can read the original languages of the Bible in line with the English translation.

Bible Study Tools (https://www.biblestudytools.com/): BibleStudyTools.com is the largest free online Bible website for verse search and in depth studies. With tons of Bible translations, topical verses, audio Bibles, commentaries, dictionaries, encyclopedias, videos, devotionals and blogs, it provides a wide range of trusted Biblical sources and media for the Christian and the searcher to use.

The Bible Project (https://www.youtube.com/c/bibleproject)

BibleProject is a nonprofit animation studio that produces short-form, fully animated videos. Their videos and all of their other resources are available for free to help people everywhere experience the unified story of the Bible.

If I have questions, what websites/sources can I trust?

Both Bible Hub and Bible Study Tools have many topical articles, but there are other places where questions can be answered! Here are a couple places we trust to give good, Biblical answers:

Desiring God (https://www.desiringgod.org/)

Desiring God is a ministry that exists to guide you towards everlasting joy in Jesus Christ. Through thousands of articles, sermon, books and podcasts made by a variety of pastors, ministers and scholars, it provides a Biblical perspective on a variety of questions and issues.

The Gospel Coalition (https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/)

The Gospel Coalition supports the church by providing resources that are trust and timely, winsome and wise, and centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They have thousands of books and articles available on their online resource library.

Got Questions (https://www.gotquestions.org/)

Over 668,252 questions have been answered on God, Jesus, the Bible, theology, understanding Bible verses and passages and on spiritual and life issues that require some Biblical guidance. Got questions? The Bible has answers.

What if I want to connect with someone from Camp?

You can certainly connect with someone from Camp who can help answer your questions. Send your questions to communications@camparnes.com and we’ll be more than happy to review them and help answer them the best we can.
