Fall and Spring Activities

From the beginning of the school term in September to the final days of June, there are activities to enhance your Outdoor Education Program. Come to Camp to develop a cohesive team or for your last hurrah at the end of the school year. You can teach your own classes or select from those taught by our Outdoor Education Staff (CA); you decide by choosing the package that suits your school best. Program activities run from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm daily.

Additional Activities to add to your Package

Archery (CA only)

Students are introduced to the basics of archery. The class challenges students to develop and master personal technique.

Climbing Wall (CA only)

Enjoy the excitement and challenge of our 32 foot wall with instruction and encouragement from our skilled Resource Staff.

Cooperative Games (CA or School)

These activities inspire group cooperation while building and strengthening group dynamics. Some of these activities include shooshing, human knot, group juggling, etc.

Emergency Shelter Building (CA or School)

Students learn to provide a quick respite from the cold, wind or other inclement weather conditions.

Fire Building & Bannock (CA only)

Students use natural materials to learn basic fire building skills and have an opportunity to cook bannock.

Giant Swing (CA only)

Get a new perspective from the top of our Giant Swing! Just like a playground swing, except on a bigger scale, and a lake view that will take your breath away.

Hayrides (CA only)

Enjoy a leisurely tractor-drawn wagon ride through our scenic trails. Available for day or evening programing.

High Ropes Course (CA only)

How often do you get to swing from ropes, balance on wooden beams and free fall from 30 ft in the air? Our ropes course is great for personal growth and team building. Overcome your fear and give it a try.

Indoor Heated Pool (CA or School)

After a full day of activities, teachers and students can enjoy a swim in our indoor heated pool (30X50 ft.) or relax in our hot tub. Available for day and evening programming.

Nature Hike (CA or School)

A guided nature hike that allows students to observe and become acclimatized to our natural environment. Students will encounter many types of plants and signs of wildlife.

Initiative Tasks (CA or School)

Students will be asked to problem solve through team work. This promotes the building of self esteem, group cooperation and leadership skills.

Instincts for Survival (CA or School)

A simulation of life in the Manitoba woods. Students take on the role of a herbivore, omnivore or carnivore and their goal is to collect food and water while avoiding predators. This is an excellent large group activity.

Orienteering (CA or School)

Introduces the students to the use of a map to help them travel in unfamiliar territory. They will gain an understanding of accurate transferring of information (compass work optional).

Trail Rides – May & June only (CA only)

Experience the adventure of horseback riding on our scenic trails. The class begins with basic riding and safety instruction before heading off on the trails. Choose from our one hour or one and a half hour classes. Minimum four people, maximum 10 per ride.

Zipline (CA only)

Ready for the thrill of your life? Climb up over 40 feet, jump off the platform and zip along the wire until you’ve reached the bottom; it’s like nothing else we have at Camp!
