Volunteer Job Opportunities
 
Building Projects
Assisting the maintenance director, you will be responsible to assisting on building projects that are happening at camp. Projects that are ongoing at this time are:
• Cedar Lodge
• Flowing well renovations
• Roofing projects
• Repairing our play structure
 
Caretaker/Custodial
Assisting the caretaker, you will be responsible for helping in various cleaning projects around camp. Some of these might include:
• Cleaning bedrooms/bathrooms in our various facilities
• Laundry
• Removing cobwebs
• Washing walls
• Washing windows
 
Corrals & Horsmanship Program
Assisting the head wrangler, you will be doing various jobs at the corrals. Some of these jobs might include:
• Assisting in chores such as feeding and watering the animals
• Fencing projects
• Tending and caring for the horses
• Teaching lessons
• Trail rides
 
Dining Hall Worker
Assisting the dining hall manager, you will be helping to clean dishes and prepare the dining room for guests and campers. This would include:
• Putting clean pot & dishes away
• Sanitizing and setting tables
• Serving in the food line to guests or campers
• Sweeping the dining hall
• Washing pots & dishes
 
Hosting
This position is geared for individuals who would like to have an ongoing role here at camp. Trained by the hosting staff, you will assist groups in their needs and make them feel welcome when they are here at camp. Some of the work may include:
• Assisting dining hall staff as needed after meals
• Opening and closing various facilities as needed (eg: pool, tuck shop, etc.)
• Serve coffee & tea at meals
• Serving snacks at appropriate times
• Talking with group leader about schedule/guidelines of camp
 
Kitchen Worker
Assisting the food services manager and kitchen staff, you will be helping to provide meals to the groups or campers that use our facilities. This would include:
• Cutting and chopping food
• Preparing food for serving
• Preparing trays of foods for cooking
• Serving in the food line to guests or campers
 
Maintenance Projects
Assisting the director of operations, you will be responsible to projects that require “a handyman’s touch”. Some of these projects may include:
• Clean up such as mowing grass or trimming/cutting trees
• Gardening projects
• Painting buildings/structures around camp
• Splitting wood
• Upkeep of our horse trails and paths around camp
 
Office/Clerical Assistance
Assisting the receptionist and office staff with day to day operations of camp. Some of the projects may include:
• Answer calls (when receptionist(s) is on vacation)
• Creative story writing
• Database entry
• Mail outs (4 – 5 annually)
• Make thank you calls to donors
• Research

Resource Staff
Assisting the resource coordinator you will provide invaluable help in teaching in our outdoor education and retreat centre operations. Some projects may include:
• Assist in the Outdoor Education program
• Assist in resourcing guest groups

Specialty Projects
Assisting the operations director, you would be helping in work projects of a certain trade. Some of these might include:
• Carpentry
• Electrical
• Photography
• Plumbing
• Video editing
 
Summer Program
• Bus Program
• Cabin Leaders
• Corrals (wranglers, chore leaders)
• Grounds people (mowing lawn, gardening, etc.)
• Instructors (archery, canoeing, lifeguards, kayaking, arts & crafts, high ropes course, photography, drama, and woodworking)
• Kitchen & Dining Hall
• Nurse Coordinator (nurses)
• Respite workers
• Speakers
