Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a nurse or doctor on site?
No, however we are only 19 km’s north of the Gimli Health Centre where, if necessary, an ambulance can be dispatched. Most of the Camp Arnes staff are certified in standard first aid and have their CPR training.

Will there be lifeguards on duty when my child is in the pool?
Yes, Camp Arnes staff have their NLS (National Lifesaving Society certificate) and your group is required to have one lifeguard for every 30 people in the pool.

How deep is the pool?
The shallow end is 0.8 metres and the deep end is 2.5 metres. In order to enter the deep end students are required to swim 6 widths of the pool and will be given a wristband to identify them as deep end swimmers.

What does my child need to bring to camp?
We have packing lists for every season; simply click on the camp you are attending.

Are you peanut free?
We cannot guarantee a peanut free site but do strive to be a peanut safe site. This means we sell nut free products in our Tuck Shop, Chapman’s ice cream in the dining hall and we have no peanut products or oils in our kitchen. This includes all tree nuts as well.
